IT ALL STARTED IN MY COLLEGE DORM ROOM.

Founder Nikki Azzara here! Welcome and thank you for joining me! I found out I was gluten intolerant while studying at Wake Forest University. As a health-conscious foodie & wellness enthusiast living on campus, I was frustrated with my lack of options to “indulge” and needed a solution. So, I started a healthy food blog, where I developed my own recipes to transform my favorite treats into better-for-you snacks. When I graduated, I noticed that these healthy “indulgences” didn’t exist in grocery stores… why was no one using whole foods as a base instead of flours, grains, dairy, junk or filler ingredients? This inspired me to create P.S. Snacks as a platform for healthier treats: my favorites made with real-food, purposeful ingredients that are nutrient rich and actually good for you...

PROBLEM SOLVED.

Q: WHAT DOES THE "P.S." STAND FOR & WHAT DOES THE BRAND MEAN TO YOU?

A: P.S. has two meanings: (1) Problem Solved —  I couldn’t find healthy options to satisfy my sweet tooth, so I created my own solution…my favorite nostalgic treats without the junk! (2) With “P.S.” we’re highlighting what makes our products uniquely different. Our treats use unconventional, plant-based whole foods...main ingredients you wouldn’t expect— to totally transform the way you “indulge”. P.S. They are actually good for you… meant to be enjoyed anytime of day. 

For me, this brand encourages BALANCE. Satisfying your sweet tooth but keeping a healthy lifestyle — no need to compromise! I’m a big proponent of finding balance in all aspects of my life, so PS Snacks products are a reflection of that.

Q: WHICH OF THE P.S. SNACKS TREATS ARE YOUR FAVORITE?

A: My (current) favorites -- these change weekly -- are:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites. This is my go-to sweet snack after hiking and/or skiing and I love that these bites have a generous portion size with only 3g total sugar and 7g net carbs per bag.

Vanilla Bean Instant Pudding - I am obsessed with the Pudding Cookie recipe on the back of the package and have truly made these 100+ times. I also love blending this pudding mix with almond milk and adding some healthy toppings as a nighttime sweet treat.

Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough. I'm loving this flavor during the winter, especially with it's cinnamon decadence and delicious texture.

Q: TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEWEST PRODUCTS?

Remember Jell-O instant pudding and the movie theater cookie dough bites candy from childhood? Well, we transformed these nostalgic goodies into nutrient-rich snacks that are plant based, lower in sugar and made with real-food ingredients. These new products are near and dear to my heart, as they were born in my home kitchen during the pandemic and brought me so much joy and creative energy the past year…a sweet silver lining that I am beyond excited for you all to try. Q: WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR CHICKPEA-BASED COOKIE DOUGH?

A: My mom’s blondies! Growing up, these were my absolute favorite treat — both the final product and the raw batter straight from the bowl. When I found out I was gluten intolerant, I wanted to re-create her famous recipe to be, not only gluten free, but better-for-you. I started playing around with a version that got rid of the junk, and instead, used chickpeas as the base… with unrefined sugar, nut butter, and organic chocolate chips. This healthier alternative was a HIT, and I quickly realized that the raw, egg-free dough was so delicious, it rarely made it into the oven. A snack-worthy, nutrient-dense EDIBLE COOKIE DOUGH didn’t exist… I had to bring it to life! And that’s how it all started.
